Zookinesis is an active system of chi-gung (qi-gong)exercises developed as a warm-up for martial arts practitioners. It is also a great exercise for dance, sports and as a general fitness exercise.
“Crane Greets the Sun” imitates a crane stretching and warming up in the morning. It improves flexibility, muscle tone, joint strength and reduces tension. “Waking Eagle” imitates an eagle warming up and stretching. It uses dynamic tension for muscle tone and the springiness of the body.
Both exercises promote the flow of chi (qi or internal energy) in the body and clear blockages to the flow of chi.
